Welcome

Welcome to Stoneycroft and Knotty Ash Children's Centre Website.


We are a large, busy Children's Centre located in the Old Swan Ward of Liverpool.
 

We have lots of activities and services available for families with children under 5yrs, these services are delivered at the centre and across the area in different satellites including Holy Spirit Church, Dovecot Primary School, Dovecot Library, St Johns Church Hall, the Salvation Army on Prescot Road, Corinthian CP Primary School, St Cuthberts Primary School, St Oswalds Primary, St Anne Stanleys and Broadgreen Primary school, we also deliver services in the home for families living in the area.

We have something for all the family including support with returning to work and accessing training, volunteering opportunities for parents and parenting courses, an Under 1's group, and Parent and Toddler groups, Baby Massage, Baby Yoga, Ante-Natal classes, Chatterbox Groups (Language enrichment group for children aged 2-3 years), SWAN Groups (for children with additional needs), a Tot's Health clinic where you can get your baby weighed and outreach services for families including family support and information and registration visits upon request.

Tots Health Club is held at the centre every Tuesday morning between 9.30 - 11.00 which is led by Community Nursery Nurses with the Health Promotion Worker available to discuss all aspects of children's health and development. There are lots of services and groups for new mums to attend including baby massage and under 1's. Specialist support and advice is available for parents and children with SEN and /or disability including SWAN group  and one to one support from Family Link Workers.

We have a 58 place Day nursery on site catering for children from birth to 3yrs with friendly, highly qualified and experienced staff, OFSTED rated the daycare 'OUTSTANDING' you can view the full report online via the OFSTED website or call in to request a copy.

The centre offers ante-natal sessions called Bump, Birth and Beyond, which include active birth, newborn know how and infant feeding information session.  You can have a look at the timetable for dates and times or you can contact the centre directly if you have any questions or queries about the services available.

Linda Campbell - Centre Coordinator
My job is to manage the day to day running of the Children's Centres in addition to managing the team and providing supervision, guidance and support to staff to ensure the services provided at Stoneycroft and Knotty Ash are of the highest standard and meet the needs of the children and families from the Old Swan area and beyond whilst monitoring the impact services have on the lives of the families that attend the centre.
I work closely with a wide range of organisations including Health, Education, Social Care, Job Centre Plus and other voluntary organisations to offer individual packages of care to children and families.
I manage the centres budget in line with internal and external audit procedures and consult with the Children's Centre Advisory Board and service users in regards to the most productive way to spend the grant to enhance services at the centre whilst complying with the grant conditions.
I ensure the centre works within both local and national Government policy and guidelines, striving for outstanding services in early years and promoting the importance of the formative years.
I am committed to the development of the team at Stoneycroft and Knotty Ash as well as my own personal development.

 

Rebecca Baxendale -Deputy Co-Ordinator & Family Link Worker (Stoneycroft)

In the absence of the Centre Co-Ordinator I ensure the centre works within both local and national Government policy and guidelines, striving for outstanding services in early years and promoting the importance of the formative years. I offer support to families in the local area that may need more specific support and advice, who may be isolated or struggling with any aspects of family life , through home visits and centre based support.  I work closely with many of our partner agencies to ensure I can offer the best support and advice to all our families, and put them in touch with the right services. Call or come in and see me if you need any advice.

 

Adele Rimmer - Deputy Co-Ordinator & Family Link Worker (Knotty Ash)

In the absence of the Centre Co-Ordinator I ensure the centre works within both local and national Government policy and guidelines, striving for outstanding services in early years and promoting the importance of the formative years. I offer support to families in the local area that may need more specific support and advice, who may be isolated or struggling with any aspects of family life , through home visits and centre based support. I work closely with many of our partner agencies to ensure I can offer the best support and advice to all our families, and put them in touch with the right services. I also run Breastfeeding and Weaning Sessions at Stoneycroft Childrens Centre. Call or come in and see me if you need any advice.

 

Janet Roskell -Family Link Worker (Stoneycroft)
I work with all families who have children aged 0-5 years old. I lead many of the groups and activities within the centre from Play and Learn, Under 1's and many more.
I offer support to families in the local area that may need more specific support and advice, who may be isolated or struggling with any aspects of family life , through home visits and centre based support.  I work closely with many of our partner agencies to ensure I can offer the best support and advice to all our families, and put them in touch with the right services. Call or come in and see me if you want to come along to any of the groups or need some advice.

 

Linda Kelly- Family Link Worker (Knotty Ash)

I work with all families who have children aged 0-5 years old. I lead many of the groups and activities at venues within the Knotty Ash area such as Baby Yoga (Holy Spirit Church), Rhymetime (at Dovecot Library) and Stay and Play (St Johns Church Hall).
I offer support to families in the local area that may need more specific support and advice, who may be isolated or struggling with any aspects of family life , through home visits and centre based support.  I work closely with many of our partner agencies to ensure I can offer the best support and advice to all our families, and put them in touch with the right services. Call or come in and see me if you want to come along to any of the groups or need some advice.

 

Lauren Anderson- Health Promotion Worker (Stoneycroft)

My role is to work with health partners to deliver health promotion through Children’s Centres and improve health and well being outcomes for parents with children under 5 years and pregnant women with the aim of reducing health inequalities. I facilitate sessions such as Breastfeeding,Healthy Eating, Active Play,and much more. Call in if you would like advise or support on any aspect of health and well being for you and your family.

 

Andrea Giles and Kate Fenneberg- SEN and Disability Link Worker (Stoneycroft)
As S.E.N/Disability Link Workers we work with children aged 0-5 and parents/carers of children with additional needs and disabilities.We offer individual support to families with referrals to outside agencies where necessary.
There's one to one sleep advice clinics, a group for speech and language enrichment and packages of care for children under 5 with an SEN and/or disability. We also run a SWAN Group from the Centre for children with additional needs.
 

Karen Lang- SEN and Disability Link Worker (Knotty Ash)

As S.E.N/Disability Link Worker I work with children aged 0-5 and parents/carers of children with additional needs and disabilities.    I offer individual support to families with referrals to outside agencies where necessary.

Michelle Griffiths- Administrator (Stoneycroft & Knotty Ash Children's Centre)

I am responsible for the day to day administrative duties across the two Centres.

 

Elaine Stewart - Receptionist (Stoneycroft)
Hi! I'm Elaine and I'm usually the first voice you'll hear when you contact Stoneycroft Childrens Centre by phone, and the first person you'll see when you visit the centre. I ensure you speak to the right person who can help you with your enquiry. I am also responsible for completing paperwork, collecting data and ordering the resources the team needs to deliver the best service for you.
