All staff are fully trained in 1st
Aid and have relevant childcare qualifications ranging from NVQ level 3 to NVQ level 4. We would also like to welcome our lovely new apprentices Alysha
who have recently joined us, both are currently working towards completing their level 2 in childcare.
Before your baby starts at nursery you will be invited to come in for induction visits. We believe these visits are extremely important and we encourage you to visit as often as you wish. This gives you the opportunity to meet all the staff, spend time within the room and ask any questions you may have. A lead practitioner will introduce you to your child's key person during these visits and she will spend time with you and your and get to know all the child’s needs including your home routine. Your child’s likes and dislikes etc These visits are important as they aid a smooth transition from home to nursery.
Your child's key person is primarily responsible for ensuring your child's needs are met throughout the day whilst planning activities that stimulate and interest your child. They will spend time settling your baby into nursery life helping them to become familiar with the setting and to feel confident and safe within it.
Our baby room is a fully equipped room with equipment and resources specially chosen to encourage babies to learn to sit up, crawl, walk and encourage independence. We have sensory areas to help develop your baby’s sensory needs. Toys and equipment are all at child level enabling the babies to explore their environment and choose what they wish to play with. Daily activities include messy play, baking, painting, water and sand, treasure baskets.
The babies have a safe secure outdoor play area which is accessed directly from the room. This provides an opportunity for the babies to easily access the outdoor area and get fresh air daily.
The nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which promotes positive relationships in a stimulating environment. Daily activities take place within the room for all children and your child's key person plans individual activities for your child after observing them and finding out their interests. Your child's planning is displayed on the wall in each room for you to view at any time.
Your child’s key person will build up a learning journey on your child. This is done through photographs, observations and regular planning. Photographs and observations are all completed on iPads and iPods and can be emailed to you through a system we use called tapestry. That way you can see exactly where your child is up to and what they’ve been doing in nursery. Upon visiting the nursery we can give you more information on this system we use.
When your child is ready to move into the next room they will visit with their key person, you will also be invited into the nursery to visit the next room with your baby settling them in and getting to know the staff.
